Gerrell “Rellevant” King is an International Platinum-Selling Music Producer based in Los Angeles, CA.
Known for his ability to deliver a polished Top 40 sound, Gerrell enjoys producing music of all genres including Pop, Urban Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dance, Cinematic, and more.
Inspired by music producers such as Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Paul Epworth, and Emile Haynie, Gerrell production takes listeners on a musical journey from beginning to end.
Born July 4th, 1987 and raised in Bakersfield, California, Gerrell began to write, record, and produce music at the age of 14 years old.
Determined to achieve his goal of becoming a successful music producer, he decided to enroll as a student at The Los Angeles Recording School.
At the end of 2006, Gerrell graduated from the Los Angeles Recording School with a Certificate in Audio Engineering.
He would later return to the school to share his experiences since graduating.
After completing the Audio Engineering program, he began working with Black Eyed Peas producers Printz Board and Sleep Deez, allowing him to work with various artists such as The Game, Mya, Keyshia Cole, The Saturdays, and many artists around the world.
In 2015, Gerrell received his first platinum-selling record working with Six60, an alternative soul band signed to Universal Music Group – New Zealand, on their sophomore album Six60 Album II.
Not only interested in working with recording artists, Gerrell expanded his production by partnering with major brands, television networks, and film studios such as Mountain Dew, VH1, and 21st Century Fox.
In 2016, he produced the music in 2 trailers for the film Ice Age: Collision Course, making him part of the highest grossing animated film franchise in the world.
Shortly after, he partnered with Mountain Dew and USC as the lead composer for “A True Fan Finds His Home.”
Exclusively released online, this short film was released in conjunction with the 2017 NBA Finals.
While continuing to work with artists around the world, he was introduced to Ukrainian pop star Tina Karol, who at the time was working on her album “Intonations.”
Gerrell produced the record Zemlya (Track #9). The album would later go on to reach multi-platinum sales and streams, awarding Gerrell his second platinum record.
In 2018, Gerrell made his way to Scandinavia where he worked with Nikkee Ankara, a Finland based hip-hop artist signed to Universal Music Group – Scandinavia.
The record Ootsa Nahney Nikkee became the title record of Nikkee’s latest album and sold double platinum, awarding Gerrell his third platinum-selling record.
Continuing his success as an international multi-genre music producer, in 2020 Gerrell landed his first record in the Asia market by producing “Slow Motion” by Lu Han.
Lu Hans Volume.3 EP, with Slow Motion as the lead single, would go on to sell over 2 million copies in China alone and is Certified Diamond in China.
Looking to leave behind a legacy of music, Gerrell continues to strive daily to achieve his goals and is always looking to collaborate with other songwriters, producers, and musicians alike.
